"Relaxing and Beautiful"
I had a really lovely visit to Matamanoa island. It is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. I stayed in a villa overlooking the beautiful beach. It was amazing to wake up every morning, breathe in the beach air and walk in the warm calm clear sparkling water. The sun set over the beach in the evenings. The spa is lovely, it’s a series of almost tree houses set amongst trees overlooking the ocean. Very relaxing. I took the guided snorkel trip and the snorkelling safari trip. In fact I was late for the snorkelling safari trip and I was taken out especially. The snorkelling instructor Scobby went above and beyond to take me on a special trip later in the afternoon. Thank you so much! I was so glad he did because I saw amazing colourful coral and beautiful tropical fish, several turtles, stingray and reef sharks. He was very knowledgeable about the marine life and lots of fun, It was a beyond worth the trip and one of the highlights of my stay! The hotel is as lovely as it looks in the pictures on the website. I thoroughly recommend staying here

"Adults only Paradise"
Matamanoa was an incredible island which exceeded all expectations even after looking at the glowing reviews. The island itself is pristine and untouched with great rooms and facilities. The food and staff were what made this resort next level – nothing was too much trouble. Matamanoa is the only resort/hotel on the island – unlike other adults only resorts. Easy to find your own piece of private beach.

"South Pacific Gem"
This idyllic south pacific island was everything we dreamed of. After a short transfer from the mainland you are greeted warmly by a charming team who are there to make your stay the very best it can be. We hired a beachfront bure and it was the best thing we did – generous well equipped room with a private deck and plunge pool, just steps away from the beautiful beach where you can watch the sun go down. Lots to do, especially if you like snorkelling or diving. The restaurant and bar will not disappoint you, a superb menu and choice served by friendly staff. Many thanks to all who made our holiday so very memorable. Vinaka vaka levu! Taranga Moli and Marama Moli! x

"Beautiful island with outstanding staff and amazing attention to detail!"
After a 7 night stay on Matamanoa Island, leaving yesterday was hard! We had the most fantastic time; made perfect by all of the beautiful staff. We can’t thank Seko, Sai, Save, Mela, Naca, Lai, Alesi, Scoby, Jale, Tara and Emily enough for their hospitality, laughter and genuine friendship throughout our stay.
We absolutely loved our Beachfront Bure #42. A spacious Fijian style interior with shady cabana and private plunge pool. We really appreciated its privacy and immediate access to the beach.
Whilst only a small island, Matamanoa has everything you need to relax and unwind…or if you’re my husband’s way inclined…wear yourself out! Every day, a schedule of activities is posted. I don’t think there was anything we didn’t try – Fijian basket weaving, nature walking, Fijian cooking lessons, beach volleyball, Bocce, Staff cultural shows, kava ceremonies, international crab racing and evening fun and games. You’ll even be awarded a certificate of participation at evening ‘Bula Time’ – we’ve got plenty to frame when we get home!!!!
The snorkelling was fantastic. It’s great to know that the reef is regenerating and that resort staff are dedicated to preserving its current state. Head out to the drop off to see an abundance of fish, reef shark and even Tommy the Turtle! Snorkelling trips/PADI diving/transfers to neighbouring islands can be arranged at the Deep Blue Dive shop.
Flowers for the ladies each meal time, cold towels to start before dinner, a varied menu of both Fijian and western cuisine of an excellent standard. If you’re looking for an island that pays attention to the smaller details, where staff know your name and go out of their way to make sure you have the best Fijian experience, you won’t be disappointed.
Thanks also to General Manager Mela for her hospitality during our stay! We will absolutely be back again to see our new Matamanoa family!
Vinaka vaka levu to you all!

"Paradise.....our Island dream!"
We spent 4 nights in this outstanding island resort!
Our bure was stunning, spacious and right on the breath taking beach!!! The colours of the ocean will be forever remembered by us! The staff was great, super quiet adult only resort. It felt like we had the island to ourselves. Enjoyed a massage at the spa, hearing the waves! The guided snorkeling tour was fabulous!!!! We didn’t want to leave.
We hope to be back!
Thanks

"AMAZING!!!"
My husband and I just returned from Matamanoa island. This was our first stop in Fiji for our honeymoon and I cannot say enough amazing things.
The resort itself is impeccable, the bures are spacious and gorgeous, and the food is fabulous! It really was heaven on earth.
However, I would like to spend the majority of my review on the service at matamanoa. We were absolutely blown away by the warm and genuine hospitality that was shown to us by each and every member of the staff. They make you feel like family so quickly and it is so amazing.
Specifically Lani-she is the absolute best of the best! My husband and I will never be able to express our immense gratitude for all she did for us. We had an unfortunate circumstance with a lost passport and Lani not only coordinated our travel to the US embassy but she accompanied us throughout the entire journey as well! We will always remember and cherish Lani. She is truly the sweetest and most genuine woman and we are so lucky to know her.
If you are considering Fiji, Matamnoa is hands down the best choice!!

"Great place to unwind"
after spending 5 nights at this resort, we didn’t want to leave. The staff were friendly and often addressed us by name and our beachfront bure was very spacious and clean. There was a daily welcome ceremony “Bula Time” to introduce new guests and farewell those departing the next day. The food was good and activities were varied enough to keep us busy (when we wanted to be that is). Unlike some reviewers, we were more than happy not to have TV or WiFi in our room as that was the whole point of the trip .. to get away from everything and unwind.

"Wow! best vacation ever"
My two friends and I stayed on Matamanoa for a 30th birthday trip this week – we absolutely cannot wait to return. We got our scuba certifications with the amazing staff at Deep Blue, our worlds are forever changed! Emma is the best, we were so lucky to have her as our dive instructor. On the accommodation side, our beach bure was all we could have dreamed up and more. We watched the sunset from either our hammock or our plunge pool overlooking the beach every-night. Unreal. The entire staff is so so nice, we are honestly hoping to return every year! A total dream.

"Like Coming Home"
The best part about this resort are the people who work there. They welcome you warmly and it is obvious that they all get along so well. By the end of my trip I felt like one of the Matamanoa family. The music was special, thanks to a visitor who sang with the island band and entertained me and the other guests alike.
Some people complain about the wifi only being available in the public areas and not in the rooms, but I think they are missing the point. It forces you to disconnect from the online world and get in touch with the real world of people and experiences. As someone who runs their own business, I was grateful not to have to work when I was there. I needed it.
The beach is amazing and the infinity pool has an beautiful view of the ocean and surrounding islands.
Bula to all the staff there, I miss my new family already.

"Gorgeous island. Perfect honeymoon"
My husband and I stayed here for a week as part of our honeymoon. This place is pure heaven! We stayed in a hut right on the beach front with gorgeous views of the ocean from our bedroom window. We had our own private plunge pool which had sun in the morning and early afternoon. Our hut was spacious and cleaned to a high standard daily. As it was our honeymoon we were given a bottle of sparkling wine and a fruit basket in the fridge as well as a wooden plaque with our names on on the front door of our hut.
The food here is amazing. The breakfast and lunch time menu was the same every day and can become a little bit samey but the evening menu changed daily. I’m a fussy eater but I never had a problem finding something I liked. The steak dishes and the butter chicken dish were delicious! The staff here are incredibly friendly and greet you by name with a big smile on their faces. You are welcomed to the island by a number of the staff singing the ‘bula’ (welcome) song. They also singing this song every night at dinner to all new arrivals that day.
I would definitely recommend this island resort for anyone looking for a getaway in paradise.

"Nice and Chic resort, highly recommend!"
It is a very small island, but it is very nice and chic. The resort is very clean, no bugs at all, you don’t need to worry about bugs or mosquitoes. The service is great! They provide flowers to each lady on each meal. During dinner, they provide nice local song/dance shows. The WIFI is very good. and All the people are very nice and helpful. The dive center there is the best. There are many hiking trails around, all of them well designed, the view is awesome! We will come back again! Really love it.

"Truly Paradise"
I just returned from a 2 week trip to Fiji. Matamanoa Island Resort was the 3rd/last resort we stayed at. Wow! It was simply amazing. This was my 50th birthday trip and I arrived at Matamonoa 2 days after my birthday but they still presented me with a cake and sang happy birthday to me on our first night. I was very surprised and touched!
We were there 6 nights and stayed in a Villa. I highly recommend the splurge of the Villa. It was very nice, private, and such amazing views. The room was perfect. Great housekeeping. We were in Burre 55 which was great location in the middle of the row of villas. We had no foot traffic other than workers a few times in front of our villa. The Villas are a short, beautiful walk from the restaraunt, bar, and main pool. They also have a golf cart that will take you back and forth if its raining or you just don’t feel like walking. The property itself is very nice and well kept. It has modern fixtures and furnishings.
The food was really good. Some of the best I had on the whole trip. I recommend getting the meal plan. It really isn’t that expensive and you don’t have to worry about the prices of things. It was plenty of food and variety. We never went hungry. They have a good selection of drinks at the bar. We Brought over champagne from Nadi which we enjoyed while hanging out in our villa.
We did the Castaway trip which was fun. My BF went on a dive to the Supermarket and said it was amazing. We also got a couples massage which was also really fun and a good quality massage. The beaches around the property are beautiful. It can be a bit windy and we didn’t have great luck snorkeling off the beach but others did. We spent the days hanging out in our Villa pool and the beach. It was absolutlely the best ever.
What really makes this resort in my opinion is the staff. I can’t say enough good things about every single one of them! Many of them are from the village on a neighboring island and they are truly family. The are happy and so friendly. Most of them called us by our names from the moment we arrived. Amazing how they remember everyone’s name but it made us feel special. Every request was received with a friendly smile and positive attitude. We felt they truly went out of their way to ensure we had a memorable visit. With so many places in the world to visit, I often never say I will go back to a place, no matter how good it is. But I will definitely go back to Matamonoa if I am back in Fiji! I recommend it to everyone, you won’t be disappointed. I really didn’t want to leave.
Thank you Matamonoa family for your genuine hospitality and making my 50th birthday trip one I will never forget!
Peace, Love, and Happiness to all of the Matamonoa Island Resort family!
