Prior to Travel
Fiji will offer quarantine-free travel to tourists from Travel Partner countries from the 1st of December 2021
Matamanoa will be welcoming guests from the 1st of March 2022
Travel Partner countries are currently: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, United Arab Emirates, United States of America, New Zealand, Cook Islands, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Nauru, New Caledonia, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, French Polynesia, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu.

Over 85% of Fiji’s eligible adult population (aged 15+) are fully vaccinated.
Vaccines administered in Fiji are: Astra-Zeneca, Moderna and Pfizer
- Evidence you have been present in a Travel Partner Country for a minimum of 10 days prior to travel
- For all travellers 12 years and older, evidence of a negative RT PCR Test completed 72 hours before boarding your flight
- A minimum 3 night stay at a Care Fiji Commitment (CFC) resort (Matamanoa Island Resort is a fully accredited CFC resort)
- All travellers 18 years and older must be fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to travel
- A digital vaccination certificate must be presented to certify vaccination

Yes. You will need to provide documented proof of a negative RT-PCR test no more than 3 days prior to travel for all travellers 12 years and above
Unfortunately, if your Covid-19 test is positive, you will not be able to travel to Fiji. You should immediately isolate yourself and follow public health recommendations
Matamanoa Island Resort has a minimum age policy of 16. Unvaccinated travelers between the age of 16 to 18 are permitted provided they are accompanied by a fully vaccinated legal guardian
Fiji currently recognises: Astra-Zeneca, Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
Cross vaccination between these vaccines is accepted
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended to protect you and your party for the entire duration of your holiday against illness, injury, death, loss of baggage and other personal items, weather interruptions, cancellation of all booked accommodation & extra services and other travel contingencies.

This will depend on your country’s re-entry requirements. It is highly recommend to familiarise yourself with your country’s requirements regarding quarantine and testing before you book travel to Fiji
After Arrival into Fiji
Yes, you will need to take a Rapid COVID-19 diagnostic test 48-hours after your arrival in Fiji, this can be taken on Matamanoa Island for a cost of approximately $35 FJD
Yes. All businesses who have made the Care Fiji Commitment (CFC) are 100% fully vaccinated, this includes Matamanoa Island Resort, it’s concessionaires and transit businesses
Yes, all visitors are required to download the careFIJI app and keep the device Bluetooth turned on at all times. This also allows QR code check-in at all businesses across Fiji

Alert our Wellness Ambassador, we have plans and procedures in place that can help you isolate comfortably at the resort. We will put you in touch with the relevant medical authorities.
The careFiji framework provides the highest standard of health and safety to our visitors. This includes access to isolation facilities and medical care such as testing, routine staff swabbing, escalation protocols in the event of positive cases by private medical practitioners affiliated with the property.
Once you test negative, post the isolation stay, you will be free to return home
No, you won’t be stuck. You will only be required to isolate if you test positive yourself. However, if you are aware of someone who has tested positive, we highly recommend taking a test to confirm you are negative. In the event of a positive case at Matamanoa Island, contact tracing protocols would be followed and you are likely to be notified to take extra precautions
Virtually all of Fiji is ok for tourists to move around however there are some restrictions to be aware of. Travel to low vaccination zones is prohibited, a map outlining these low vaccination zones will be published closer to Fiji’s December reopening. Typically, these are smaller villages outside the main tourist areas.
Once you arrive, you are free to travel to Safe Travel areas where there is high vaccination coverage. Everyone you interact with in the tourism industry will be fully vaccinated, from fellow guests to hotel staff to tour operators
Currently there is a curfew in place between 11pm and 4am
It is not mandatory to wear a face mask on the island
Yes, there will be hand sanitizer in all rooms plus various points around the island
Yes, Matamanoa and the surrounding islands are not located in low vaccination zones
You could be fined up to $10,000 FJD or face up to 5 years imprisonment depending on the severity of the offence under the Public Health Act 1935
Matamanoa Island Resort can assist you with Rapid COVID-19 diagnostic tests on island at a cost of approximately $35 FJD. If your country requires a RP-PCR test these can be obtained at Dr Zen’s Clinics at a cost of approximately $350 FJD. The closest clinic to Matamanoa Island is on Denarau Island:
